Position Overview

Supervising Psychologists at Simply Mindful Counseling supervise LLP and TLLP clinicians. They are also invited, but not required, to provide clinical therapy services to Simply Mindful Counseling patients. Clinical therapy services include the treatment of children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervising Psychologists must be properly licensed according to the State of Michigan and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics applicable to the services performed for Simply Mindful Counseling

  • Manage schedule autonomously in a way that includes regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to sessions and meetings

  • Perform in-person or virtual supervision to LLP and TLLP clinicians employed by Simply Mindful Counseling, as scheduled, and per Simply Mindful Counseling policies outlined in the Employee Handbook

  • Maintain supervision notes

  • Attend staff meetings

  • Grow the goodwill and reputation of Simply Mindful Counseling when interacting with our community in person or digitally

  • Engage with coworkers in a way that is collaborative, cooperative, ethical, and professional.

  • Participate in ongoing continuing education

  • Keep Simply Mindful Counseling’s shared space clean and tidy 

  • Other duties as assigned

  • If seeing patients:

    • perform in-person or telehealth psychotherapy services to patients of Simply Mindful Counseling, as scheduled, and per Simply Mindful Counseling policies outlined in the Employee Handbook

    • Provide patient-centered and evidence-based psychotherapy and supervision services in a thoughtful, ethical, and professional manner

    • Conduct intakes, determine the least stigmatizing diagnosis, create treatment plans, monitor treatment plans, and adequately discharge patients when treatment terminates

    • Complete timely written records for each patient, including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contract notes, and other forms or documents that may be needed or required from time to time by Simply Mindful Counseling or third parties within 48 hours

    • Collaborate with a patient’s treatment team (e.g., PCP, psychiatrist, NP, school, etc.) as necessary.

    • Keep patient files accurate and up-to-date

    • Engage with patient information in a way that maintains confidentiality

    • Process credit card payments for services provided in a way that is consistent with Simply Mindful Counseling’s rules and regulations outlined in the Employee Handbook

 

Qualification and Skills Required

  • PhD or PsyD

  • Active Michigan licensures as a Licensed Psychologist (LP) in the LARA system

  • An anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ affirming, neurodivergent accepting, and inclusive worldview

  • A mindset that embraces personal growth and humility

  • Ability to develop and foster supervisory relationships with clinicians and therapeutic relationships with clinicians

  • Align with Simply Mindful Counseling’s mission, vision, and values

  • Availability to complete 5 to 27 patient or supervision sessions per week

  • Organized and detailed-oriented

  • Able to work independently

  • The ability to integrate constructive feedback

  • Comfort with paperless technology

  • Competent written and verbal communication skills

  • Fluent interpersonal skills

  • The desire to grow your career in a group practice

  • If working with patients, our ideal candidate will have (or have an interest in developing) at least one niche market for counseling services (e.g., couples, children, teens, trauma, anxiety, grief, anger management, EMDR, etc.)
